Insights into the Entrepreneur-In-Residence (EIR) Program
The Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) Program is a year-long residency for seasoned local entrepreneurs to embed themselves at the heart of Uganda’s startup ecosystem while launching or scaling their small businesses. EIRs collaborate closely with Uptia Logic Foundation, advising on strategic growth and supporting the implementation of key nonprofit initiatives. Each year, a select number of entrepreneurs are chosen to help shape and strengthen Uganda’s small business innovation ecosystem.
Purpose & Impact
At Uptia Logic Foundation, we believe in building a thriving, inclusive entrepreneurial community—grounded in collaboration, generosity, and a culture of giving back. The EIR program is our flagship initiative for turning this belief into a measurable action. Each year, we invest in a small cohort of EIRs, providing growth opportunities in exchange for their commitment to helping scale our organization and uplift the broader ecosystem.
Our EIRs leave the program not just as stronger entrepreneurs but as leaders who embody and champion the values of mentorship, inclusion, and reinvestment. We envision a ripple effect—where each EIR passes forward the spirit of generosity to co-founders, peers, future employees, mentees, and even startups they one day invest in.
This is how we create a lasting impact. The EIR program is the spark—we want the culture it creates to be the fire that transforms Uganda’s startup ecosystem.
